HALLOWEEN FREAKY FACTS
Orange and Black colors are used because orange represents the colorful fall harvest. Black represents the darkness of winter.
The Irish placed candles in turnips to keep away spirits. Over time pumpkins got used instead.
And some Halloween tidbits from Family Circle Magazine Oct. 2011. Chew on this: October 30 is National Candy Corn Day. More than 35 million pounds, that’s 9 billion pieces, are made each year. One kernel has a mere 3.57 calories. Candy corn is fat free. A cup of candy corn has about as many calories as a cup of raisins.
