THINK PINK AND KEEP MOVING!

Good Morning Readers! I was looking thru a past issue of a Women’s Day magazine (Oct. 2011) Women’s Day said that just 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week can cut your breast cancer risk by nearly 20%. And that regular exercise (2.5 hours a week, which you can break up into five 30-minute brisk walks) not only helps to keep your weight in check, it can also lower estrogen levels and boost your immune system, helping to prevent any abnormal cells from growing and spreading. And if you do get breast cancer, KEEP MOVING. Breast cancer survivors who did the equivalent of one to two hours of brisk walking a week had a 40% lower risk of dying from breast cancer, according to a study from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. SO KEEP WALKING PEOPLE and THINK PINK every month of the year. WALK ON !!!!!!!!!!http://shopworndesigns.etsy.com

HALLOWEEN

HALLOWEEN FREAKY FACTS

Orange and Black colors are used because orange represents the colorful fall harvest. Black represents the darkness of winter.

The Irish placed candles in turnips to keep away spirits. Over time pumpkins got used instead.

And some Halloween tidbits from Family Circle Magazine Oct. 2011. Chew on this: October 30 is National Candy Corn Day. More than 35 million pounds, that’s 9 billion pieces, are made each year. One kernel has a mere 3.57 calories. Candy corn is fat free. A cup of candy corn has about as many calories as a cup of raisins.

Halloween Humor

“Halloween was confusing. All my life my parents said, ‘Never take candy from strangers.’ And then they dressed me up and said, ‘Go beg for it.’ I didn’t know what to do. I’d knock on people’s doors and go, Trick or Treat, No thank you.”

—Rita Rudner

FALL

“Autumn is the second spring, when every leaf is a flower.” —Albert Camus

“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.” —Emily Bronte

“Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting, and autumn a mosaic of them all.” —Stanley Horowitz

“The best is autumn. It is mature, reasonable, and serious. It glows moderately and not frivolously…It cools down, clears up, makes you reasonable.”—Valentin

“Fall is my favorite season in Los Angeles, watching the birds change color and fall from the trees.” —David Letterman

Mother’s Day

Most of all the other beautiful things in life

come by twos and threes,

by dozens and hundreds.

Plenty of roses, stars,

sunsets, rainbows,

brothers and sisters,

and aunts and cousins,

but only one Mother in the whole world.
